Why You Should Read This: This is a SUPER EPIC fic that I found to be a great read. The whole series (homepage of series linked above), including after stories and side stories is a total of 28 parts and per the author, completed as of March 2015.
I found it to be well thought out and plotted. I enjoyed the after stories that followed up on the main story that basically re-wrote the Hobbit and the events of LotR. The Thorin shown here starts off as a bit of an ass, but his head gets removed from said ass fairly quickly and goes on to become quite the Dwarf he could have been. There are some background het pairings such as Aragorn/Arwen and Fili/OFC which I thought were nicely done.
