Why You Should Read This:
It’s easy to overdo the woobie for me. I often find myself snarling “Oh, for fuck’s sake, get over it, already.” and hitting the back button. This is especially a problem for Torchwood fan fiction, because there are some really woobie-making issues in canon and it is easy to let it go too far.
There is significant woobie in this, but no more than is justified, given events. I think it is the sheer practicality of the other things going on, and most importantly both Jack’s and Owen’s response to Ianto’s issues, that make this well worth reading. So this is an appealing story about a very damaged young man who discovers he is not alone anymore.
