Summary:
This is a long, slow telling of my version of Season 1, mostly from John’s POV– mostly dealing with his relationship to Rodney, but a little with Elizabeth, and his team. This is not a fast-paced story; it’s mostly an excuse to spend a lot of time in Atlantis, focus on the setting and on the stuff the TV show never really had room for, or interest in.

Why You Should Read This:
This is technically an expanded rewrite of a McShep Match fic; this series is brilliant and one of my favorite fics. It covers things like training the scientists in weapons, the people of Atlantis getting drunk at parties, as well as missions-gone-wrong and the like. It also explores John and Rodney’s relationship, as well as John and Elizabeth’s (though theirs is not a romantic/sexual one, except for this one scene where Elizabeth watches the boys. McShep is my OTP and I dislike reading them with others, so trust me on this ). I like how the author writes John and Rodney and the evolution of their relationship. Though I’m usually a Rodney girl, this fic has made me really sympathize and feel for John. The sex is incredibly hot, and I even like the OC she’s created, which speaks to the author’s writing talent. She makes John and Rodney feel like real people, and does it while keeping them true to their characters.

In later installments, she covers the events of season 2, and currently she is doing a rewrite of SG1’s “The Pegasus Project”. She updates fairly regularly, too, so there’s not much of a wait for more.
