The Last Chance Diner Series by Setchi

Title: The Last Chance Diner Series
Author: Setcheti
Fandom: Supernatural, Marvel Universe, Welcome to Night Vale
Pairing: Note from author: “This is a multi-fandom crossover AU, and it is chewing up OTPs like a handful of slightly warm M&Ms. You have been warned.”

To be more specific: Dean Winchester/Steve Rogers; Cecil/Bruce Banner; (past) Cecil/Carlos; (past) Clint Barton/Phil Coulson

Rating: Mature
Warnings: Canon-level violence. A number of canon good guys are bad guys.  It’s more than a little disconcerting. Also, it is not kind to traditional Christian religious ideas.
Genre: Action Adventure, AU, Cross over, Paranormal
Word Count: 50,536 for the series

Summary:

The Last Chance Diner sits squarely at the halfway point of old Highway 49, opening its doors at sunset and locking them again at sunrise. One man runs it and seems content to be there, stuck in the middle of nowhere. He tells himself he isn’t lonely, and he may even have been right…but only because he didn’t have anyone to be lonely for.

Why You Should Read This:

This is a little strange.  And not for the reason you may think. I mean, Night Vale is involved, but only peripherally (I won’t tell you, you’ll have to read it).  Things are weird enough without that.

It is an unusual approach, but very well-written.  To start off, it’s quite sad.  It takes you through just how screwed up every thing is for everybody, almost classifying as the sad kind of future!fic, but not quite.  Then there is Adventure.  And slowly things start to get straightened out.  I enjoyed the unusual pairings and the way it all comes together over the period of the series.
