Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a buttload of trouble, in the wrong hands. What part of ‘the Chameleon Arch is not a toy’ didn’t they understand…?
Why You Should Read This:
This is a long, rambling series in 14 parts. The 1st through 5th stories are the main storyline and the others are side trips. In the beginning of the main story line the Tardis and Martha Jones, in an effort to make the Doctor (10) happy, use the Chameleon Arch to turn Martha into a Time Lord (she insists the title is gender neutral). As a result they end up stuck on Earth for a year, in Cardiff, for the gestation period.
And after that it gets a little crazy and….
Well, let’s just say that robling_t’s Muse is psychotic and let it go at that.
This is, for the most part, crack…except when it isn’t. I love these stories intensely, partly because they are so frigging funny, partly because they are so frigging smart, and partly because of the way robling_t smacks you upside the head with serious action/adventure or evocative and very sad stuff from time to time. There is also the fact that I honestly think there is a Master’s Degree to be written from the analysis of the Chapter Titles + Author’s notes. And finally, the Owen/Andy/Tosh triad is so damned cute I can hardly stand it.
One word of warning. The “Mirror, Mirror” story is not complete and has not been worked on in quite a while, which is a shame because this story is less silly and more intriguing/heartbreaking than the others.
Anyway, this series makes me very happy and I hope it will do the same for you.
