Summary:

When Lord Yaxley — also known as Bertie Wooster — and his inimitable valet Jeeves stumble upon a THRUSH plot, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin are sent in to pull them out of trouble. Things don’t work out according to plan. They never really do, do they?

Why You Should Read This:

In many ways, this is a bog-standard U.N.C.L.E. affair, which is always fun. This is also Jeeves and Wooster as old men who make an impression on the young men sent to protect them. This is an action/adventure with a constant sad undertone because Bertie and Reg have had to deal with exile from their own country and the prejudice against gays for decades.  During all the adventure and hurt/comfort and angst, Napoleon finds he can no longer  pretend to himself that he does not want Illya.  But he has no idea if Illya reciprocates.  And even if he does,  Napoleon doesn’t know how to tell him what he wants, or what will happen next.

Or if he’ll even live long enough to find out, because THRUSH is trying very hard to kill all four of them.

One Comment:

  1. This is another of of my favorite by Mice. Also the first Man from U.N.C.L.E I ever read and it made me want to read more.
