Summary:

When he takes the rap for a crime committed by Barney and the Swordsman, Clint is charged as an adult at 17 and spends the next four years of his life without protection in prison. Enter one Neal Caffrey, who knows how to charm his way to whatever he wants or needs, and Clint’s life gets a lot more interesting. Pretty much, the story of Clint in prison, Clint getting out, and Clint, like always, finding his way to SHIELD, and Phil.

Why You Should Read This:

An interesting take on what could have happened to Clint in his past before he met Phil. In this one, Clint takes the fall for a crime he didn’t commit and meets Neal Caffrey on the inside. The psychological damage done to a teenaged Clint while living in a federal prison is heart wrenching  I was in tears during parts of this, but it was an incredible read. As soon as I finished, I raced over here to rec it.

One Comment:

  1. Yepper. Awesome it was. Gritty and dark but with a great ending and lots of good things along the way. Not without some serious themes and violence but some great human moments too. This is an adult themed story and not just fluffy bunnies but if you read the story labels and can handle them it’s well worth reading.
