Why You Should Read This:

I actually rented Pacific Rim after reading this, to see how much was astolat and how much was the movie.  I wasn’t impressed with the movie.  What I saw was a lot of potential within the plot that was overwhelmed by playing with Godzilla-style monsters.  So astolat took some of that potential and ran with it and this story is so much better, so much more human.  Astolat never disappoints but this is one of the best of the shorter stories.

This is John Reese and Harold Finch as we first knew them, but the arrival of the kaiju (the aforementioned Godzilla-like monsters) has changed the world and changed their lives.  I LOVE this story.
