Tony and Gibbs hadn’t even heard of “imprinting” until a case of domestic abuse and murder brings it to their attention. Descriptions of the symptoms seem rather familiar and make them both more than a little uneasy.
Why You Should Read This:
This is a different take on soulmate/soul bonding stories. In this world, science has only just become aware that some people imprint. It’s a quirk of biology that is not universally known and not considered important enough to spend money to investigate. And it has bitten Tony and Gibbs on the ass big time.
In most fan fic of this type, even if one or both soulmates considered themselves straight, they fall immediately into sex with their new partner. It doesn’t happen here. Even though neither is offended by the presence of gay people in society, they themselves are straight. Yet each of the men has had some pretty weird stuff going on for them sexually for the last year or so, including no actual sex and a certain someone suddenly appearing in masturbatory fantasies. These are not things they can actually talk to anyone about, of course, because men.
Getting to where they can deal with their bond, up to and including sex, is not easy for them, and makes an interesting and appealing story.
This is one of my favorite stories.
