Summary: For a 1stclass-kink meme prompt: Erik is a single, successful man who likes quick sex with no strings attached. Then, he meets college professor Charles and it’s love at first sight, at least for him. Charles, who heard of Erik’s notorious ways, wants nothing to do with him besides being friends. Cue Erik bending over backwards to steal Charles’ heart.
Why You Should Read This:
This fic was my introduction to the XMFC fandom. I’m a big fan of humorous fics – I dearly love to laugh. Erik is a public figure with a bit of a reputation. Charles is a nice, polite guy with overprotective friends – and Erik is pretty much immediately smitten. Erik’s family and friends are hilarious and outrageous, and Erik thinks of them with fond embarrassment. When Erik and Charles become friends, the two groups mesh well, and so Erik’s quest to win Charles’ heart begins. This fic has moments of angst, but for the most part I found it sweet, funny, and romantic – now that I think about it, much like a romcom movie.
