Author: annataylor
Fandom: Star Trek 2009
Pairing(s): James T. Kirk/Spock
Rating: Explicit
Genre: Alternate Universe, Romance, KidFic, Humour, Fake Marriage, Adoption
Word Count: 65105
Summary:
“‘Spock,’ Jim breathes out, completely overwhelmed by the gesture—not quite believing that Spock knows him so well, that’s he’s already started researching, that he trusts Jim with a member of his own endangered species.”
When Jim gets it in his head to adopt an eight year old Vulcan, Spock presents a logical solution to the issue of Jim’s humanity: marriage to a Vulcan citizen.
Why You Should Read This: I’ll admit that I have a complete weakness to mini Vulcans so this fic was already gold in my books because there is not enough of them in fandom. The story starts out was a bang – Jim meets Sorek as they wait for the crew of the Enterprise to rescue them. Within that time James T Kirk is smitten and wants to adopt the nine year old Vulcan which Spock finds a logical loophole for the Captain to use. Marriage. Through obliviousness and misunderstanding, James and Spock find their rhythm as husbands and fathers. I genuinely enjoyed reading the well written story particularly in her understanding and expression of the Vulcans and Bones. Glad to have spotted it.
