Summary: In the depths of the Crystal of Neahtid, Merlin sees the resurrection of Lord Voldemort, an event that will tip the balance of the world so far out that only he has the power to intervene and set it right, or stop it from ever happening. For that, he’ll have to pose as a student and attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The only problem is, he’s been chosen instead of Cedric Diggory as a Triwizard Champion, and there’s a recently reborn Arthur Pendragon in Gryffindor House.
Why You Should Read This: Merlin goes to Hogwarts! For that reason alone, you should read it.
This is GOF redone, with Merlin as a 7th year student attending Hogwarts to prevent Cedric from dying and Voldemort from resurrecting, and to prevent an imbalance in Magic. But there’s more to this… Arthur is such a Gryffindor, it’s perfect… The myriad of original characters are often stolen from other fandoms but they are made to fit perfectly into the Harry Potter universe… you’ll immediately forget they may come from elsewhere…
It’s a huge story but it never drags… there are lessons to learn, silly boys to stop being silly, and understanding how Magic has changed over time while Merlin was waiting for the promised return of Arthur.
For Harry Potter fans, Harry is essentially a secondary character in this story. It’s firmly a Merlin/Arthur story; just fair warning so you aren’t disappointed.
